SPRING FLAG FOOTBALL REGISTRATION & INFO

SPRING FLAG FOOTBALL INFO

Spring Flag Football registration is now open for PreK through 2nd grade, and we’re excited to get back on the field this April. This spring league is a great way for young athletes to stay active, build skills, and have fun in a fast-paced, non-contact football environment.

The spring season is designed to be simple and flexible. Western Iowa Football serves as the league organizer. We do not provide coaches or build teams. Teams are formed by parents and coaches prior to registration.

Spring Season Details

  • Divisions: PreK–K, 1st Grade, and 2nd Grade
  • Season Length: 6 weeks
  • Game Days: Saturday mornings
  • Start Date: Saturday, April 11th
  • Cost: $65 per player
  • Registration Deadline: March 22nd

Uniforms & Equipment

  • Jerseys are not included for the spring season
  • Teams provide their own jerseys
  • Flag sets are available upon coach request and must be returned at the end of the season

Team Formation (Important)

  • Teams should consist of 7–10 players
  • This allows enough players if someone misses a game, while still giving everyone good playing time
  • You do not have to be from the same school district to form a team
  • We recommend forming your team before registering

Best Practice:

  1. Identify a coach
  2. Decide on a team name
  3. Build a roster of 7–10 players
  4. Have all players register and enter the same coach name or team name
  5. Make sure all coaches complete the coach registration

Athlete Registration

Register here:
https://registration.teamsnap.com/form/52735

Steps to Register:

    • Guardian = Parent or Guardian

  1. Select your School District
    • If not listed, choose Other

  1. Enter the Coach’s Name or Team Name
    • If unknown, enter UNKNOWN and we will work to place your athlete on a team if space is available

  1. Complete the remaining required information and submit payment to finalize registration

Coach Registration (Required)

All coaches and team admins must register and sign the Code of Conduct.
This is the only way to be assigned to a team and how we will create team names in each division.

Coach Registration Link (No Cost):
https://registration.teamsnap.com/form/52737

Steps to Register:

  1. You are registering yourself, not your athlete, as a coach or team admin

  4. Enter your team name in the field labeled “Team Name/Head Coach”

Important Notes

About Western Iowa Football Leauge

About the League

The Western Iowa Football League (WIFL) is a youth football organization serving athletes from Pre-K through 6th grade across Western Iowa. We offer three progressive formats of football to support players at every stage of development:

  • Flag Football for Pre-K through 2nd grade, including a Competitive Division for experienced 2nd graders

  • Flex Football for 3rd through 6th grade, a limited-contact option that bridges the gap between flag and tackle

  • Tackle Football for 5th and 6th graders, offering a full-contact experience in a structured, team-first environment

WIFL is designed to grow with the athlete — focusing on skill development, safety, and teamwork at every level. Whether a child is picking up a football for the first time or preparing for the next level, WIFL provides a positive and competitive platform to learn, play, and succeed.
